Are data entry clerks and secretarys normally women?

I know some guys that have done data entry, but pretty much every secretary I've known has been female.

Most are though. A couple of years back my mom worked for Data Entry and her room with about 10 other people were all female. Other Data Entry employees in other rooms were mostly female also. The only males I saw worked as programmers and graphics. At least on that floor. :/

I was 15 and earned $7.50 doing data entry for Chemical Bank (now Chase). I did a few other data entry jobs for good cash. It was the easiest job in the world, but most dull at the same time. We got to listen to our own walkmen though.

I wouldn't say most were women... there were quite a few guys doing it too.

The most interesting "data entry" jobs are the ones where you take people's messages and send them to their alpha numeric pagers. At least there'd be some variety and you get to talk to people on incoming calls. Some girls actually said I had a sexy voice a couple times.. hahaha... they sounded 14 themselves. But that was easy cash... the job, that is.

Data Entry - Mostly female but I have seen males do data entry. When I started in mortgage processing I did data entry of loan applications for a few months before being promoted. It's a good way to get your foot in the door.

Secretary - I'd say 99% of secretaries are women.

What mortgage company do you work for?

at my 500-person academic workplace, every secretary and data entry clerk is female. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

I did data entry for $9/hour then the company I worked for hired me on salary coming to about $13.50/hour. Things could have changed now. This was 5 years ago.

net-temps.com has some good temp jobs available.

I was a receptionist my first year in college...for an office of librarians (mostly women). On the plus side it was probably the easiest job I've ever had.

I did data entry for a coupla years right out of high school.

Quite a few of the secretarys (sorry, "Administrative Assistants") at my work are male.

But I think it's rare.
