Are Credit Scores international?

I have a friend moving out of the states here in a few days and his plan is to never return. He isn't American, so once he returns to his home country, he plans on staying put. Anyways, he has a few bills (including a lease, speeding ticket, and various others) that he is just not going to pay and assume they will transfer to collections and he will be untouched. When other country's run credit scores, do they reference US creditors? Just curious.

edit: since social security numbers are unique to the country, could they even reference on another?

Your friend is a douchebag for not paying off his responsibilities. That said, I doubt collections will go after him in other countries.

Your friend is stupid. You never know what's going to happen to you down the road. He may get a "can't say no" job offer in the states, but he won't be able to move here because there's an arrest warrant out for him.

They do for unpaid tickets, afaik. And either way, my point is the friend doesn't know if he may need to come back to US at some point.

Yeah, ignoring the ticket will get a warrant issued for him eventually, so if he does come back, he may have some explaining to do to DHS when he goes through customs.

Your friend should buy a house, get an inflated appraisal, pocket the cash difference between the selling price and the loan, then move out the the country never to return. The Russians here in Sacramento do that all the time.
