Yea ive started quite a few threads on the physical durability of a cpu, "will it die if i poke it?" "will it survive as a coaster?" etc. Its interesting to know these things :p So! If i dipped a pentium PRO or a P4 or somthing with an IHS into water, would it work afterwards? Assuming its dried off.

it probably isn't, but if you wanna dip that pentium pro old piece of crap in water, dry it off and try it, go ahead..

Assuming nothing corrodes and there's no nasty solute deposition in important places, it might be okay. Not something I would want to try, though.

Yes A CPU will work after being submerged in water. (At least a K6-2) :) I was bored and read this so I threw a spare K6-2 in the sink for about 10 seconds, pulled it out hair driered it and it booted right up. THough I suspect longer swims may result in very different outcomes.
