The Unions of America are growing older and bearing the brunt of layoffs. Is this coincidence? A growing number of workers are making more money that management wants to pay. Its no coincidence that older workers demand more pay. (Its also no coincidence that older workers produce more, thereby justifying a higher wage.) The bulk of the Fortune 500 has more cash reserves than ever before but the trend is to layoff. Something smells fishy.
If this trend continues you'll see alot of older Americans dropping out of the Corporate workforce into their own businesses. These businesses will often be running with intellectual power on a proven level. I don't think the young Corporate "yessir" boys and girls know what they are getting themselves backed into... It may be a very good time for Small Business the next five years.
