Looking at a P2450. $260 at MonitorsDirect.com.

Also like the Samsung 955DF but refresh rate is only 66kHz@1600. Any thoughts?

Never heard of the brand, but apparently they are for real.

Cronie, I too have never heard of that particular brand, but there are numerous people here at AT that love Samsung monitors. Maybe it's just personal preference, but I wouldn't buy a monitor from a company I've never heard of.

I did research Cornerstone, and was very impressed with all aspects of the company - tech support responded promptly and informatively via e-mail, sales was available, all toll free calls, 5 year warranty (with $35 advance replacement optional), and this guy Jim (hardware guy at Cornerstone) seems to be very helpful in the Toms Hardware forums.

Also, THEY MAKE THE MONITOR. How many times have you been able to get such great access to and help from the manufacturer of ANYTHING you bought!?

Of course, I now have to take a look at the monitor itself. I ordered a P2450 - very nice specs and only $13 more than the Samsung 955DF. I'll let you know...

Where can you find a better deal than $260 for a 19" using the Mitsubishi NF CRT and a 5 year warrenty.

Or how about the p1750 a 22" Using the Mitsubishi NF CRT 5-year warrenty for $589.

I'd spend $30 more and get the next one up, the P2460 which can do 1600x1280 at 85Hz.

I have heard of cornerstone. Make sure it isnt a fixed frequency monitor first. I just got an NEC Multisync P1150 and would highly recomend it. Bought it off of ebay for $155 and picked it up because it was local.

In the old days early 90's fixed frequency monitors where popular. We have not built a fixed frequency monitor for well over 7 years now.

No offense Jim, but this thread is turning into an "infomercial."

Go easy there fella. I have seen Jim's postings in this forum and Tom's Hardware and he has avoided many prime opportunities to shamelessly promote his product.

What speaks to me is that Jim is very knowleadgable, helpful, and responsive - that cannot help but promote his company. However, like I said he has passed up the chance to really sing the praises of his own product, instead answering factually and leaving the rest up to the reader. I have no problem with that.
