I think there are differences between private and public colleges, but I do think public colleges generate a certain amount of money for profit to build buildings, build theaters etc... and possibly to pay their employees higher wages? (I might be wrong, and I have a feeling I'm wrong :)

Oh yeah, I know that some colleges forces their lecturers/professors to curve the class to get 10% As and in some cases 50% Fs. I know this grading system is created to establish a prestige for people who earn As, Bs etc...

Do you think colleges do this (give Fs, even though some dont deserve them) to generate revenues via people who repeat the class? I think its a scam in some cases :) ????

At public universities all revenues are used to provide services for the public, such as better teachers, better facilities, ect. They are accountable to state legislatures to show that these funds are being used to better the institution as a public resource, not to the private gain of individuals. Thus they are non profit.

As for private colleges, I don't think anyone will disagree that many are highly profit driven and get run more like corporations than schools.
