Are cell phone acessories on ebay basically 3rd rate crap?

I bought a travel charger for pretty cheap on ebay for my cell phone. It doesn't work at all, but atleast I didn't pay much for it. I have an LG 5250, and I need a new battery. I'm thinking about getting a new battery off of Ebay since its substancially cheaper ($12 vs $60), but after my first experience with crappy quality, should I be weary about getting an extended battery off of ebay? Anyone else here had any experience with getting cell phone accessories off of ebay?

The first and last battery I bought off ebay for my phone, it was terrible quality. It might say made in Japan, but that doesnt mean its of quality materials. Battery didnt even get to 50% life of previous stock Nokia battery.
