Are car head unit connectors standardized?

I don't mean the ones the OEMs use, I know damn well those aren't. I mean the ones the ones on the back of aftermarket HU's. I ask, because I'd like to swap out one HU for another, and I lack the wiring diagrams for BOTH of the HU's, and both of the vehicles (oops) so I'd prefer to just unplug the harnasses and replug.

there's different ones for different brands of headunits I think, last time I checked that's what I thought, but maybe I'm wrong

Crutchfield usually gives me the required adapters and installation instructions for free. This is why I continue to purchase from them :)

Yeah, your best bet is to try to label the stock wires based on the wiring harness colors.
