Sperm are produced round the clock, not only during sex. I haven't studied this or anything (ask Ryan? 😛) but I'd assume one produces more than the other, based on the fact one is generally a bit larger and thus has the potential, and on the fact gravity pulls the larger one farther from the body, where it can better produce the little guys - production and temperature are inversely proportional to a degree; this is why many infertile men are instructed to wear boxers instead of tighty-whiteys.
