Are Baseball Caps Larger Than They Used To Be?

I bought one of the new 59-Fifty all polyster official Detroit Tigers hats.

I've always worn 7 1/4, but this one seems huge.

I've got other 7 1/4 hats like one for the OSU Buckeyes, which fits pretty snug. I've got other ones too like Toledo Mud Hens and a retro Houston Astros hat in the same size. All from different companies. This new one is kind of loose, and hangs really low touching my ears.

Are the official baseball hats just bigger than other ones? Or did I buy one size too big?

I don't know if the sizes are getting bigger, but the kids are wearing them a lot bigger these days. And they're usually cocked at an absurd angle with brim completely flattened and the sticker left on. It looks really, really stupid.

ARGH, I feel the same way. I really want to walk up to one of those "thugs" and take the hat off his head, rip off the sticker, bend the brim, then place it nice and straight back on their head.

And then run away of course.

Not only are they larger.. brims are getting straighter, stickers are getting more flashy/shinier, and America's fine, upstanding youths are finding more and more ways to wear them at ridiculous angles that all but negate any practical use one may get out of it.

i have a few retro baseball caps. chicago cubs has an awesome logo of bear hitting. i also have houston astros (letter h in front of a star) and new york mets (mr. met running.)

as someone who has worn 59fifty's for awhile and owns a bunch of them i have noticed that lately they have been coming out a little bit bigger and dont fit as snug. but as time and wear goes on they start to form and even shrink a bit to fit more comfortably. like my black/white padres hat used to be like that and now i wear it and it feels small now. but ive had it for awhile and put a lot of wear on it and in fact its getting a little dirty and i should replace it. but no, you're not crazy for thinking that.

Yes, they have gotten wider, and more expensive, i wanted a standard all white hurricanes hat, the only one is saw was @ champs sports. it was $45 and was allwhite and a straight brim, with a HUGE flashy/gaudy 59/50 Logo on the top of the brim.

I noticed its part of the "urban style"
