Are averatec laptops any good?

Im looking at getting one of theirs that has a 1.3 centrino but i dont know anything about the brand, any help would be super.

How about the emachines 2400xp one with the widescreen? its cheap but does it sucks?

I'm not sure about those emachine laptops. I have heard good things about them, and if that's the case then I would jump on one. They are pretty damn cheap...but then again, emachines are "lower-tier" computer systems......anyway, it may be worth your while to buy an emachine and/or averatec and then get the "extended" warranty just incase.

Averatec laptops are now "on the shelf" in Office Depot. I have not seen any ratings or evaluations of them. They are cheap enough - maybe too cheap.
