Are ATI latest Catalyst drivers backward compatible with older AIW cards?

Hello,

I have an ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 32MB PCI card, and am having consistent problems. (twice a day XP blue screen crash). I downloaded the latest Catalyst 5.5 Windows XP driver from ATI website, but I'm not sure if they support this older card.

On the other hand, if I use the drivers on the 2 years old CD, I'm pretty sure that XP Service pack 2 and other drivers on my PC will create even a bigger mess.

Any advice?

Catalyst will work with all Radeon models.

the new Catalyst drivers will work on any Radeon card. I think they even work on old Rage cards so your card will be supported.

Thanks .. this helps a lot. So I will keep the latest Catlyst 5.5 version. Mybe the issue is ATI Multimedia Center 9.08. There's a note on the download page:

For ALL-IN-WONDER Series:
NOTE: Supported on ALL-IN-WONDER 9000 Series and newer. For older ALL-IN-WONDER products, please use MMC 9.02.

Is this correct? Why/Why not?
