Are any new cell phone models coming out soon that I should wait for?

My family's plan is up in a few weeks, and we need new phones. Verizon has the Razr for cheap now, but I've heard a lot of people don't like it and it's only popular because it looks cool. I know the updated Razr is coming out sometime before next year, but that could be a long way off and seriously expensive, not to mention the fact that Verizon probably won't have it when it comes out (they never get the cool phones, at least not right away). Anyone know if Verizon's going to be getting any new models in the next few weeks?

edit: By family's plan being up in a few weeks, do you mean your contract end date? Because you may or may not be eligible for equipment upgrades (either standard or New Every 2) the same time your contract expires. Just a heads up that you might want to call CS and confirm you're eligible.

Can you play mp3s directly from the memory card with the LG Chocolate on Verizon, or do they strip that out to make you use Get It Now and give them more money?

I love exposed keyboards for one handed use. It is a bitch having to flip everytime I have to call or email/msg back. This is why almost all pda phones have exposed keyboards.
