Are antec and chieftec cases the same

I was going to get an antec plusview 1080 case but then saw chieftec cases on newegg that look almost exactly the same.

Then I saw the "Aluminum Workstation Tower Server Chassis with 450W Power Supply, Model "AX-01SLD U2F SF" -RETAIL" on newegg for only $95 and thought that it was a good deal for an aluminum case w/ the power supply.
Any thoughts on this case?

Many of their models are the same inside and outside, others have different front bezels - actually both made by Casetek OEMing for them. The PSUs are different as Antec's are mostly made by Channel Well, don't know for sure what PSUs Chieftec/Uneec uses.

Thanks.

I see that newegg has this case:

CHIEFTEC Server Chasis (Aluminum Workstation Tower with Plastic Front Cover), Model "AX-01SLD" -RETAIL **Now with 2 x Front USB2.0 and 1 x Firewire IEEE1394 ports**
for $70 bucks. Looks like a good deal on an aluminum case. Just add power supply.

Well, some of the Chieftecs have L&C (look for LC in the model no.) PSUs which I don't care for, but the one you were looking at has an ISO. I've never seen that one before, anyway that model is OOS for a few days. The one w/o a PSU is also a good idea.
. I suggest you take a look at the silver AOpen 600 aluminum on directron. They are selling it at a crazy price for an aluminum case and the PSU is Fortron. Usually around $100.

Yeh, be careful about power supplies- Antecs are very good, L&C is a Deer Group brandname, not so hot, and I'm being charitable. Some of the Antec/Chieftec models are identical, being produced by Chenming, then fitted w/ different psu's, depending on the wholesaler's specs...

That's a nice looking case Zepper mentioned, and AOpen usually uses Fortron psu's, definitely good stuff. Their 300w model will oulast and outperform many others rated much higher.

You can't go wrong with Chieftec cases, imo. I just purchased a bx-02 from newegg. Very nice, quality build case w/excellent airflow.

All these cases are made by Chenming and sold under various names such as Antec, Chieftec, etc. They are also distributed in the US as Uneec. All the same, but details vary.
