Is there any other way to increase the multiplier by modding the cpu?

I'm stuck at 133 cause I got an older mobo.

So if I'm understanding correctly all that is needed to unlock the higher multipliers is to open the last L3 bridge on the cpu. Correct?

Nevermind I got it working. AMD T'Bred 1700+ @ 15x133fsb= 2004 Ghz by opening the last two L3 bridges using the battery trick.

Thanx for the link johncar

If you read carefully...opening the last/5th/rightmost L3 bridge (or an alternative resetting of that bit HI) is the "first and absolutely essential" step. But it might not be "all that is needed", depends on the mobo/bios.

Look at the list of 6 or 7 operations like getting into the bios as soon as posssible, setting 8X Less than desired etc, then perhaps having to also set the 2X Bit Value circuit HI as well if simpler steps fail. Notice all the different types of problems getting access to the 13X and up range??

If you're interested in if and how your mobo/bios responds, test the following....

Set 5X, 5.5X, or 6X in bios User-Defined Multiplier mode and see if system boots at 13X, 13.5X, or 14X respectively. It should if your mobo is capable of resetting the "1st 4 bits" of Multiplier Code. If it does then you might have been able to just open the 5th L3, get into the bios asap before it would hang and set 7X in User-Defined to get 15X.

If it's able to reset the 5th bit, system should boot at 5X, 5.5X, or 6X respectively...but we doubt it else you would have been able to make those settings without opening the 5th L3.
