I'd wager a guess and say the Dems were uptight about Bush's bad comedy because it had very real, negative effects on America and it's people. It's funny to hear a chickenhawk talk tough, but the laughing stops when he goes on to encourage our enemies to attack our soldiers and Marines. It's exasperating to see an individual with that much responsibility act like a fool.

The same doesn't go for Palin though, sorry. She was never, and with any luck will never be, in a position like Bush where her stupidity will adversely affect American lives and livelihoods, so there's no sickening element to it. The Dems are probably just amazed that her supporters can take her seriously, then expect to be taken seriously themselves. If anything the "uptightness" in regards to Palin is exhibited by her supporters - I guess being repeatedly laughed at is grating on them.

Yes, this show sucked. The bits where Rush Limbaugh plays the president really sucked. Their interviews sucked. Their ACLU sketches sucked. The only good sketch I saw was the sexual harrassment bit. That was mildly entertaining.

Now SNL gets their political sketches dead on. Daily Show is actually funny. 1/2 Hour News Hour is just a steaming pile of crap.

...Only if those targeted people are stupid enough to take said attacks as a personal threat and respond accordingly. What they should do is look at the source of the "attack", judge the "attacker" as unworthy of their time or thought, and slough off the "attack" as unimportant/insignificant. However, to even be capable of doing that takes true self-respect, and a positive self-image, something most people in the targeted group are gravely lacking.

That's sure a big contrast from what you see on the right. With the exception of 'and Colmes', when do you ever see right-wing shows show that amount of balance? They're almost always one-note right-wing.

Even shows that say they're not right-wing but are, like the Sunday morning talk shows like the McLaughlin Group, tend to have a radical righty, a far right, a moderate right, and a corporstist and call it 'balanced'.
