Are all those tiny New England states really necessary?

Texas need to be split up in to 3rds...1/3 going to Chihuahua, 1/3 going to Coahuila, and 1/3 going to Nuevo Leon. The US can keep the rest.

maybe the western states are too big and should be broken up into smaller states.

And there's part 2 of my inane idea... partition out Alaska, Texas and Montana so we still have 50 states... but 50 NORMAL sized states. Not something you can walk across in a couple of hours.
