Are all the Hardees closing up around your area too?

All of the Hardees that I've seen around in Greensboro and Burlington NC have started closing up. I can't remember the last time I saw one in the RTP area either.

Their food sucked anyway so no big loss :D

Hardee's - my first job. ahhhh, the memories.

I sorta liked their food back in the late 80's. I know their menu has changed a lot since then though.

Their chicken sticks waaaaaaaaay back in the day were awesome!

The ones in my area seem to be prospering. They have totally revamped their menu lately, they're trying to be classy or something. They got rid of curly fries though, WTF?

Down past Mission Valley?? Right there by the Food Lion (I think that's the supermarket)?? Bah, I never go down that far way anyway :p I usually go down to the burger King by Blockbuster on Avent Ferry, then head back towards campus:D

I think the one in Bloomington-Normal is still open - then again, I never ate there, so who knows

Closed a long time ago here in central PA as well. I think there might be one in Monroeville, PA. Not sure though.

Haven't eaten at one in years though.

Hmmm ... From a news release dated January 2003 at the Hardee's Web site:
HARDEE?S BREAKS RANK FROM COMPETITION

ST. LOUIS, January 21, 2003 ? Consumers soon will have a radically new fast food dining experience available to them. Hardee?s Food Systems, Inc. today announced plans to convert all of its more than 2,200 restaurants to an entirely new menu focused on 1/3-pound, 1/2-pound, and 2/3-pound Angus beef burgers, called ?Thickburgers.? The new menu already has been installed in more than 200 restaurants, and conversion of the entire system is scheduled to be completed over the next several months. Hardee?s popular breakfast menu will remain unchanged.
I wonder why they didn't have an updated news release on their site? I'm only aware of one Hardees restaurant in my area - all of the others closed down many years ago when Mickie Dees bought out their locations.

Perhaps most of the locations in your area were owned by a single franchisee that got into financial trouble?

It happened here with some McD's franchises.

I miss the roast beef sandwiches and the frisco burger from there. When I was in southern VA a month or so ago, all the ones I remember were still around.

There's still one here, but I don't know if it's a full Hardees. It was a Skatz, then it was Hardees Skat-Thru.

I like the $6 burger.
There's one like 1/4 mile from me, and it's still open.
Oh, Bedford, Indiana
