I know there have been countless numbers of atheist threads, but I thought I should share this article I stumbled upon. You make your own decision.

Interesting...Mormonism they chose eh...I'd say it's more of a Cult than a Religion.

The problem with religion is that it is in the end is completely unprovable. Was Jesus a real man... probably. Was he the son of god... probably not. Did he carry a good message/ theory to life... probably. Many stories/events of the bible may be true but counless are probably false or unbelievable. Are we to believe that thousands of years ago miracles and impossibilities of physics were commonplace but for some reason they lack modern existance? Was Muhammad a man.... maybe, but did he receive a divine vision while in a cave... maybe but that would probably be considered a mental condition in today's society. Religion is really all in the faith of arguitive text and will probably never be proven or disproven completely. If you're familiar with astronomy and "lightyears" you know that many images captured by satillites telescopes are far older than when the beginning of the world should have been according to the bible and other religous texts.

The person that wrote that article does not understand the concept of faith.

Well, Can someone tell me where the universe, and all that resides in it, came from?

Yes yes, the "Big bang". But where did that matter come from? did it just show up one day?

No one really knows do they? Yet you people swear up and down that there can in no way be some sort of higher being that happens to take an interest in the comings and goings of this planet?

What kind of logic is that?

Interesting....some people that believes in religion are hella smarter than you that's for sure.

That article is really one sided...poorly made (even the website). Not convince, i'm agnostic, but that's silly sh!t

People has their rights to believe in whatever they want to some invisible man in the sky or some hitler dude to be praised.

The fun thing is that I did a co-op in a quality control dept of a factory at a plant. The two techs working there were both baptist ministers and both great guys. One was especially nice and I'd often ask him questions during lunch just to pick his brain over things. The worst part is when you say to him "so as long as you're a good person in your life you'll go to heaven right" Wrong..... unless you're a devout christian you're going to hell. So this really nice guy can look me in the face and tell me I"m going to hell because I don't go to church every Sunday? BTW no animals go to heaven either if you were wondering.. Fido won't be tagging along in the afterlife with ya. Jews.... hell. Muslims.... hell... Zoroastrians.... hell.. Well they definately paint a bright picture for any "nonbelievers".

IMO no one can tell you that. There are theories that the universe will expand to an extent then implode upon itself to form a great dense mass that will again contract forming galaxies again, it is speculated that this will repeat itself until the end of time (if there is one). Another messed up thing to think about is that wether or not our universe is the only one. What if our universe is only an atom in a rabbit's bum in another universe? I think our gift/curse is that we're smart enough to thing about our existance and how we arrived here.

That' incorrect. Church attendence has NOTHING to do with going to Heaven or Hell other than you might learn something about them while in church.

According to Christianity: the only way to eternal life (Heaven) is through belief in Jesus Christ as your savior and believing that he died on the cross for our sins and was resurrected three days later. If you honestly believe that in your heart, you have salvation. You could never set foot in a church, never join in any religious gathering, and you will still have salvation.

Church is a support group; it is NOT the path to heaven.

Thank you for the correction as I'm not well versed in the Bible. One might argue that only those that truely beleive in Jesus will attend church weekly to honor him. Either way I believe I'm too logical of a think to believe that Jesus was the son of god simply because he claimed to be. Then according to your facts I could attend church every Wed/Sun for the rest of my life and not go to heaven.

What I was trying to get at is iether way, We don't know for sure and I wish people would stop trying to dis-prove something that can't even be proven.

Or something really smart like that.

Oh **** it...
