Are all Hyper-X sticks bh-5 chips?

just wondering...getting my ram back soon and since my board (Shuttle An35N Ultra) has issues with bh-5 chips I was just wondering if all hyper-x sticks have bh-5 chips?

Negative. Hell most so called Pc3200-4200 rated Ram now uses BH-6, CH-5 or CH-6.. All of which , need much higher voltages to tighten the settings.

What issues that is really good ram? The ones with the A at the end of the part number probably don't. Like KHX3200A instead of KHX3200. You did set Tras to 11?

the ram I'm getting back is model number KHX3500 (2 sticks)...I was using memtest86 and on one run I got over 400,000 errors...tried changing the timings and upped the voltage but that didn't help...looked around and saw that people were experiencing crashing and stuff like I was and how bh-5 chips have issues...the stuff I was using before was like 3-4 months old too but that was on a different motherboard...

I didn't take off the heatspreader and check what chips they were though...couldn't get the thing off and I was afraid I'd damage it...

Kind of off-topic but if I am trying to get the lowest timings on my RAM would I increase voltage or just leave it at stock? My current timings are 2-2-3-4 but I dont know if thats good or not, is it good to have that last number low aswell? Im a RAM newbie!

You get tighter timings and higher fsb by upping the voltage to 2.9 - 3.4v

You will be required to perform a volt mod to your MB though.

i know a place you can find some bh-5, so if youre interested, shoot me a pm.

I believe my PC4000 uses hynix chips. Most I see use the Samsung chips.

My PC4000 HyperX also has Hynix chips. The Samsung is good stuff too.
