Are all harmony remotes as unreliable as mine?

It seems like several times a day I have to hit the help button because something doesn't turn off, on etc. And just yesterday the volume up button stopped working.

I haven't had to deal with the help button much, but it took me three 880s before I got one that had a screen without issues and charged correctly. I was glad logitech service rocks as much as it does.

Damn, mine worked right from the start perfectly. I do have issues switching between HDMI and PC inputs on my projector, but that's not because it's a bad remote.

try reprogramming it completely. Like, delete all of your equipment, and redo it all. Ive programed over 50 of those suckers. That usually does the trick for me

I haven't had any problems like that, if its turning on/off a lot of things at once make sure to keep the remote pointed in the right direction the whole time, I have seen people use my remote to turn it on and move hte remove during the middle of the sequence causing problems. Also I believe you can change the delay between signals so if for example you are turning on the receiver, switching to dvd and then changing to a set volume and its not working because it sends the signals to fast (ie the turn to dvd signal goes before the receiver is on) then adding a longer pause between signals will help...

The only time I have problems like that is with my cable DVR box. It seems that the Motorola 3412 has a rather narrow pickup range so you have to be pointing the remote directly at it almost for it to receive the signal. I can have the Harmony (659) pointed pretty much anywhere in the room for my other devices and they pickup the signals.

you can manually learn your dvr box with the harmony remotes if its not working quite right by what you got online.

i dont ever use the help menu. once and awhile ill get a stray device, but i have my remote menu setup to give full function to any device i choose- so it only takes a second to set that straight then i hit the media key again, and the remote goes back to its current state.
