How does the image quality of a PNY compare to LEADTEK for example? Are there any real diffferences in quality besides the fact that one has heat sinks and the other doesnt?

pny is really an msi, and last i heard the msi cards have vga voltage issues that can visibly affect image quality.

the leadtek line uses higher quality components so it doens't have that problem

For the most part. All GeForce 4s are created equal. The differences come with the accessories, software, filters, and heatsink design. As a rule of thumb, I usually suggest Gainward or Leadtek as the top brands, but I also like Visiontek (especially since it is made in the USA).

I haven't heard of any major differences in overclockability with regards to the heatsink, but it could make a slight difference.

I myself have a PNY 4400 and its very overclockable, with no losses in graphical quality, despite being the cheapest priced card out there. Some cards also come with extra games and things, so you may want to take that into consideration. I'd say go with whichever one fits your budget
