I'm just wondering if all durons are oc'able.

I purchased an oem at a computer show.
Unlocked the multiplier.
Couldn't get it even 50 mhz up.
It doesn't post.
I could underclock it so i know the multiplier is unlocked.

I'm also wondering if they damaged it, if all durons should oc at least a little bit.

Thanks for the input...

well, what motherboard are you using? what heatsink/fan combo? What's the temperature of the chip? what's the original speed of the chip?

Hey Losty, that 650 should crank right up. Try to repencil the L1 again. Also try your 950 in the new mb to see if its working ok.

yeah, they will underclock even if the bridges aren't pencilled in. you need to redo them if you can't oc.

I would assume that it's a new CPU (Week 30 or later), these are pretty much guaranteed to oc to at least 900Mhz.

okaie looking at the cpu...the other LX bridges look like they have been tampered with.
Or maybe it's just me. There are dark stains on a few other bridges that i didn't touch.

I really think that the resellers tampered with it!!
The board overclocks my other 650 to 900, so it's not the board.

I'll try another cpu.

How hard should i be pressing the pencil on the bridges?
How long should i be penciling them? (yeah it's a newb ? but i never pencilled them before...the others i got were already connected)

thanks.
