Are all dentists more or less the same for regular cleaning?

if i ask a coworker they tell me they've only been to 1 dentist (the ones they regularly go to) so they can't give me a good comparison to other dentists in the area.

how would you go about investigating if a dentist is any good?

I would ask friends and co-workers. They would be your best source of information.
