Are all boxed p4 1.6s northwoods? If not, how can you tell if it is?

The boxed 1.6 Northwoods will say that they have 512KB of cache on the front of the box.

I don't think the ECS mobo is that great. I know that it wouldn't overclock well because ECS doesn't provide very many overclocking options in the bios. I would suggest a Asus board since they seem to be the best with the P4s.

<< They'll also say 1.60A right on the front of the box. >>

yeah, 1.6A, 1.8A, 2.0A, and 2.2 (no A) are all northwoods

if u want a low cost P4 mobo, check out the MSI 645 Ultra

it's perfect for a low cost P4 + DDR mobo upgrade...FSB increments in 1Mhz as well as voltage tweaks.

that's not a bad deal, if you ONLY wnat to hit a 133mhz FSB, which is all that ECS board supports above 100mhz.
also, it would have to do that at stock voltage, which isn't completely out of the question, but if it can't, u won't be hitting anythign over 1.6ghz (which is sad since these puppies can hit way over 1.6ghz)

for just over $200 at newegg u can pick up the 1.6A retail and MSI 645 Ultra and take the chip to over 2.133ghz if u wanted (i.e. over 133mhz fsb)..still rather inexpensive.
