Are all Blackberrys slow?

I had a BB world edition and it was by far the best phone I'd ever had, because I was used to cheap ole' phones. But it was slow. I then went to the Bold 9650. MUCH quicker. However, it still lags often, especially when trying to surf the net it will regularly just kind of "freeze" on the screen, but even scrolling around the menu it's just not responsive. The user experience on it sucks ass to be honest. The keyboard is nice but I have little else positive to say about it. Are they all like this? Doesn't seem much to wonder about why RIM is losing the market so badly.

I disagree, The latest touch Bold 9900 and 9930 are very quick. All the 0S 7 blackberries have 1.2ghz cpu's and are very quick and smooth. This in comparison to the 9650 bold that I have to carry for work which is dog slow.

Edit: This does not mean I like OS 7, I think it still looks and feels a few years behind the curve.

Not this one:

yes
my buddies took 15 minutes to boot up

was hilarious when it crashed

This is no joke. I loved the keyboard on my BB8830 but waiting for that damn thing to boot up was like waiting on my Commodore 64 to load something... and that includes changing the floppies.

Well, that Playbook I had was super fast but am pretty sure thats not what you meant.

Got my mom the 8330 and its very good, short boot, opening apps is quick, emails are instant thanks to BB Exchange (when it works) and overall she never has a complaint. Her biggest issue is reading huge legal emails on that tiny screen. Takes her forever. Was going to give her the Playbook but she's not technically inclined and I didnt want her to have to sync the things.

well on these smartphones the objective is the main thing that makes them fast or not
form emails and stuff like that no
for everything else yes

Blackberries are horribly slow. I can't stand it. I have a 9630 for work and I want to throw it in the trash. Glad I'm not paying for it.
God forbid it has to reboot and I'm stuck waiting for what seems like 20 minutes to use it again.
I've never timed the bootup time on my Incredible 2, but I know it's got to be less than a minute.

they've gotten better, but compared to the competition, they are extremely slow.

and it's not even the fault of the hardware. their OS is just poorly designed.

The new OS7-based devices are, for the most part, not slow. The UI is very quick/responsive. Most people that claim otherwise really haven't used one. The one thing that is still slow is the act of installing apps - but really, how often and for how long are you doing that?

not very because there's nothing worth installing from the app world.
