Are all 133 MHz FSB laptops set for CAS 3 memory?

The reason I ask is everywhere I look the only PC133 512MB sticks available are CAS 3. I suspect that the BIOS allow one to switch the memory timings, but my understanding was not all laptops allow this. Would the BIOS default to the SPD settings? If that were the case then it would make more sense for 512 MB if you bought two CAS 2 256 MB sticks rather than 1 CAS 3 512 MB stick.

P.S. I now have 640 MB in my OS X iBook. Sweet!

It probably uses CAS3 to conserve energy for more battery life.
