Are all 10/100 LAN cards the same speed?

just a qucik thought, isnt the pci channel on the southbridge, and is also on the ide controller pathways meaning if you are just transfereing infromation to the internet i will slow your computer down no matter if its running full speed or not. if you had an agp nic card, it would run quick as snit. since its on the same channel as the processor and ram, connected to the northbridge

And all of these make a big difference (or any difference) to the network of the guys who run 3 computers in a peer to peer Network using it mainly for Internet surfing?

Or may it would be more fruitful to mention under what circumstances these info can make a functional difference rather than of touting around ?general truth?.
