i look through the ads in this free computer magzine and almost none of them list any abit mobos! they have asus, msi, ecs, gigabyte etc but no abit! wtf?! the stores do list them online but for some reason they chose not to list abit mobos in those limited spaces.

Abit still has some popularity among the enthusiast, especially with the is7, ic7, and nf7 series of motherboards.

quality control problems - Abit seems to have more than an occasional 'bad batch'. Ask your local shop. Kinda like that Firestone tire thing I guess.

The Abit NF7 is a work of art, imo. It comes with 2 front USB 2, 4 rear USB 2, firewire, and even a serial ATA to IDE converter.

Abit or nothing for me. BH6 started it all for me. I just like their simple, no crap mobo layouts.

Abit has sh!t quality and dealers got fed-up with the number of returns and then horrible RMA procedures abit used.

Is Abit still having quality control problems or are you that mentioned it thinking back to a year or two ago?

Abit just had huge quality control problems in the past and a HORRID RMA system...

It soured the vast majority of enthusiasts to the point where they wouldn't touch the Abit mobos anymore...

I went to Abit from ASUS with my last 3 boxes. 2 IC7-G and a BH7. I really like these boards. They have a pretty good forum too.

The new Max3 looks cool too.

While I've never tried their RMA system lately it seems to be vastly improved and they have an online status check now.

The quality control problems have been remedied, it was mostly due to exploding capacitors but they have all switched to Rubycon caps now.

I had to RMA a video card from Abit. I probably won't buy from them again...

If you're such a fan of Abit, why don't you buy the ugly looking one I have sitting next to me. ;)
