are 40's as strong in the US as in canada?

most of them are 8% here, and even though most are imported from the US, are they stronger here?

for some reason I got the impression that they are about 6% in the US, but I forget why.

The Malts, like 45, are 8% in Ca. But this will vary state by state.

Utah has a 3.x % limit.

I would think 40z are 8% in most places. I guess Utah is strange like that ... maybe Mormon's like water'd down 40z?
