You guys think that would make for a good overclocker? Want to push it to 3ghz at the very least. I have an alpha novatech p4 cooler and good case temps so im not too worried about the heat these things produce.

What multiplier would this chip be using, 4.5? Would I be able to get to 3-3.2ghz without sending my ram over ddr400? I don't have a motherboard yet but im thinking of getting an ic7-g maxII. Anyone know the ram ratio's that board has and if there are any other boards with more ratio's?

Should i be considering a northwood instead for these speeds? I really wanted to give the prescott a shot...

It all depends of what you wanna do with it.

It is one hell of a overclocker if using VERY good cooling.
You should get 800fsb without a breeze for = ( 2400 / 133 ) = 18 * 200 = 3600 Mhz...

Most of extreme overcloking are getting 4.1/4.3.

I'm waiting for one to myself to try to get 4.0+Ghz...

The downside is it's low fsb comparing to other recent P4 and the lack of HT.

For generall use on windows and stuff a P4C @3200 should performe the same that this Prescott @3600.
But for the others tasks were speed is neeeded, it should be fast enough.
