Are 18' cables long enough to use in an antec sx1030b?

well are they? i heard those lengths could be a little too short

EDIT - well im just using a two device cable for two cd-rom drives on the two topmost bays and im using another cable for one hard drive in the hard drive cage, wouldn't that be long enough or should i get the 24''
BTW im gonna use an FIC AD11.

Standard cables will reach the top bay in my 1030. If you have a board with 4 IDE channels, then cables from the lower connectors on the board might not reach to the top bay in the case. You might find a board where it won't work, not likely.

I used this case for a recent project and 18's with the mb I used meant the top bay had to go vacant. Could you tell us what you plan to use?

I'm using them in my sx1030 (KK266-R) with no problem. However, I'm not using the topmost bay at the moment.

yiwonder, thanks for the info, i must have looked like a foool anyways, did you not use the topmost bay because it was too short?

Trust me I tried using 18" to connect HD and CDROM in SX830 using Epox 8K7A, and it wouldn't reach. So get the 24" for sure.

EMS does have good prices but they pissed me off so i cancelled my order with them and got it from outpost for 119.00 two day shipping
EDIT: of course that was a few weeks ago, not sure what pricing is now

And yes My standard cables reach all the way to the top bay where My cdrom is located 🙂
