Arctic Silver 5 storage

I don't store my Arctic Silver 5 in the fridge like recommended. I'm paranoid the humidity will damage it over time somehow. I just have it in the closet, pointing downwards inside an anti-static bag.

How do you store your AS5?

i just leave it in the 5.25 bay drawer on my TT Armor where it has lived since i built my first rig in this case lol. i didnt know they recommend you put it in the fridge though. maybe i will have to look into this lol

It has to do with compound separation, which I'm assuming means the natural separation over time of the compound into layers based on component densities. Cooler temps would slow this process down.

yea i figured something along those lines. generally by the time that happens i probably have another tube of something else and it's easier to just toss it anyway, or it's already been used up completely. take thermalright coolers for example. not knowing that my 2 IFX chipset coolers came with tubes of chill factor (big ones) i got a tube of tuniq TX2 as well, and about 1/3rd of a tube of AS5 left. I also have a Megahalems on the way, so i will probably have another tube sitting in this box i have full of cooler components im not currently using once that shows up tomorrow
