I think if you add it to your cart, or start checking out it'll come out to be 4.99. I ordered on the 14th.

SVC is a great group. Knowledgable and helpful. I highly recommend. They won't steer you wrong. Ps: They have the Scythe Ninja in-stock. (an EXCELLENT CPU Heat Sink)

The small tube is good for about 15-25 applications.
READ the instructions before use. You do NOT want to apply too much.

Also the 10 degree variation is quite a reach. Typically you will see a 4-5 degree difference.
My suspicion is that if you saw a 10 degree improvement, your HS was not mounted properly the first time but when re-installing you got a better seating.

I applied AS5 on my P4 and I've seen about 1 degree difference over my generic-gargantuan-tube-of-paste :p

Although I think my heatsink is broken. I have an xp-120 on a stock 3ghz P4 and my load temps are about 70c In an antec p180 with low flow 120mm fans. (And they aren't ridiculously low flow either, just quiet). I've mounted it like 5 times, I even had horrible temps when I used it on an Athlon64 with a higher speed fan.

I remember getting a good deal of improvement from Artic Silver 2 years ago, like 3 or 4 degrees IIRC.

Quite honestly I'd rather go with a huge tube of Artic Silver Ceramique. Big ol' 22 gram tube of the stuff lasts pretty long and works almost the same.

May have a damaged CPU. They tend to run hotter no matter what kind of cooling you use.

If you don't suck at using it, it should be good for AT LEAST 10-15 applications, depending on the CPU type (some CPUs have a bigger area to cover)

Is there much of a difference between AS3 and AS5? My AS3 tube is about 2 years old and still going strong :)

Would you have to apply it more than once? I'm pretty NEWB, but I was under the impression that you apply the gunk on once, stick on the HSF and leave it until you ugprade a CPU/mobo.

In fact, on my Dell... theres no thermal paste at all... just the aluminum heat sink and direct contact to my P4 2.66 enclosed into a little cooling chamber.
