If I remember correctly, the Shin Etsu is AMD approved in that it won't void your warranty (the only grease I believe they allow)

I have found it so much easier to use my finger in a sandwich bag to spread the Arctic Silver (any) out to an even thin layer. If you only put on the single (AMD) or double (P4) grain of rice amount, getting it smeared around is much harder with a blade/card of any kind compared to a baggie. I use to use a card exclusively until I tried a baggie.
I use to make a much bigger mess with a card too and waste more.
