Would it be possible to mount a second fan on the back of the Arctic Freezer 64 Pro? What would be a good way to secure it?

why would you want to do that? 1 fan is more then enough for the freezer... besides the back blow a bit of air down too to cool MOSFETS.

If you have the rear of the heatsink (the side with no fan) facing a large 120 mm exhaust in the back, you won't even need to mount another fan. Two fans close together only creates turbulence (and more noise) from what I've heard. If your heatsink's rear is currently not facing an exhaust fan, I know you can change the direction of it.

I'm planning to orient it so that it does face the rear case fans, but still, if I wanted extra cooling, I wonder how hard it would be to set up a fan on the back of the heatsink that would blow out towards the rear case fans (blowing in the same direction as the fan in front). I'm sure somebody, somewhere, must have done a mod like that.

I've never done it. But you persist, so I'll tell you what I would do for a Frankenstien. experament :p

Use thin weatherstripping foam on the rear fan where it contacts the HS's fins. Then use long skinny zip-ties that would go from the outter holes of both fans. The fan will not fit flush at the top and bottom edges, might want to seal that somehow=Ghetto.

Parts.
Some foam
A fan
4-long skinny zip-ties
A means to hook-up the fan
2-foam ear plugs ;)

i think it will cause some turbulence which will probably sound like a not-sealed window with wind howling through

What size fan? 92 or 120? I can envision a mod project where a guy drills some holes into the top fins so that he can screw on brackets to hold the fan.
