Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer Rev. 3

Does anyone know where to get one of these?
The only revision I see for sale everywhere is the revision 2.
I have a Radeon AIW 9800 pro and the revision 2 will work on it, but the bracket is still incompatible.
The revision 3 has a different bracket that removes the need to uninstall the stock bracket on the video card.
If anyone knows ehre to get it, I'd appreciate a point in the right direction.

in the package, was it a single grill bracket for the cooler that was included?
all the other ones seemed to have the dualcard brackets

I wouldn't count on this as one of the reviews for the product at Newegg stated he got a rev2

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-186-101&depa=0

oh my lord, why would i lie about this...if i hadn't thrown away the packaging, i'd take a pic for you...

to the original poster, the rev. 3 came w/o the special backplate that i thought i would need, it juts came w/ the grill that had the switch between low and high speeds that went in the pci slot below the agp slot

yes, there is a little bit of space between the heatsink and the rear of the case where the warm air blows through

I think its because that ordering this product from newegg doesn't garantee that you will get a revision 3 model.

I was hoping some places were carrying the rev. 3 model only or clearly marked.

Dude, chill out. He didn't say you lied. Only that other people from Newegg are reporting rev. 2. He is basically saying that Newegg may send a Rev. 2 or a Rev. 3.

GnomeCop, you may be able to simply email customer service at Newegg and ask that a Revision 3 version be sent to you. Or ask what their policy is on requesting one version vs. another. Is there a comments field in the order page? I can't remember. Maybe you can type it there.

still can't find a reliable place to buy the rev. 3
it seems some places offer a grab bag of rev 2 & 3, and they wont garantee which you'll get

performance-pcs.com said they will offer the rev.3 when they get it later this month or next

I am using rev 2 and did not remove the stock bracket. It fits fine and is doing the job quite nicely, unless I have a rev3 and don't know it 😀

Just check definitely a rev 2.

The only major reason for gettin a a revision 3 that I can see is if you have a 9600 series as they do not fit the 9600 withough a rather major mod(cut/grind away a semi-large chunk of the heasink on the motherboard side).

Not sure about where to get a rev3, but changing the bracket is very simple. I wouldn't worry about it if that's you're only concern.

its a concern for all in wonder card owners because the bracket that comes with the rev. 2 doesnt fit the AIW cards.

ordered on weds 4/21 from performance-pcs.com, recieved it on fri 4/23 for 17.95 plus shipping.
this thing works great. All the remaining noise from my system is now all low pitched, barely notice it, even with the cooler set to high.
