Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5

I was originally looking at getting 2 6800GT PCI boards for an SLI system and unfortunately the limited supply and price gouging has me going to 2 6600GT boards for now. I was wondering if anyone knew if the AC NV Silencer 5 will fit on these 6600 based boards.

The specs say 6800 but I would hope they fit. Is there anything comparable if not that WILL fit the 6600's?

From my perspective is that the ram is spaced different.

Stop right there, dont even bother with 2 6600's.
Get one 6800 for now and maybe another one later if you dont have the funds, you'll regret getting 2 6600's when you turn on aa/af at high res.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the 6600 series has the same screwhole pattern as the 5900 series...so heatsinks compatible with 5900 should work with 6600. The NV5 silencer is made for the 6800 series only.

I don't think it would work, the 6600gt looks shorter and mem is probably spaced differently.

But as shabby said, you'd be much better off to get 1 6800gt now, maybe a second later. 1 6800gt will beat 2 6600gt's on most tests with aa/af turned on.

Yeah. I'm going to get one 6800GT PCI I came to my senses. The thing that pisses me off is the availability and price gouging on them.
