Arctic Cooling MX-1 on GPU

I'm thinking about applying MX-1 to the heatsink of my X1800XT when it arrives in a couple days, since I got a few degrees worth of gains by applying Ceramique to my 7600GT.

Does MX-1 work as well on a bare GPU core as it does on the integrated heatspreader of a CPU? And should I apply it like Ceramique or AS 5 (little bead in the middle)?

Thanks

Well, considering that Arctic Cooling themselves have been putting MX-1 on their chips, I don't see why you can't. And yes, I would apply it the same way as you would with AS5 or Ceramique. It will spread out on its own when you put the heatsink down.

Ok, I'll heat it up before application so it'll be a bit easier.

Hopefully this nets some slightly cooler temps.
