Arctic-Cooling Freezer 64

I am considering this HSF for an upcoming 3000+ Winnie. What stable settings could I expect from this (I'd like 1:1 memory ratio, RAM is pqi TURBO series 2x512 Gunmetal) paired with a Soltek SL-K8TPro-939.

Since A64's don't run hot at all, you can expect essentially the same speeds you'd get from any other setup. 2.4-2.6 seems to be the average. Please post your OC when you get it, i've heard rumors that the new 3000's don't OC well, and am curious to see what you get.

the freezer 64 is an EXCELENT HSF. one of the best performers out there for half of the price, and it's quieter to boot. its fairly ugly though 🙂

Yeah, the thing looks like it would brew coffee. I got it so I'd be worry-free about OC'ing, at least to 3500+ speeds.

If you want an arctic cooling fan for socket A try one of these:

I just received my acrtic cooling freezer 64 last night and I was suprised at how big it is. I am almost afraid to see the size of the zalman and xp-120 if this thing looks big to me. The Freezer 64 won't win best looking but I don't have a clear case so who cares? I liked that it uses the stock backplate so I don't have to take my motherboard out. I'll see how it cools tonight.

HOLY CRAP!!! I just wanted to raise a  to this HSF, but didn't want to waste a new thread. I shaved 5 degrees off my load temp, and cut the noise by 70%. The loudest thing in my room now is my old PC's PIII-CPU fan! I can't believe this thing is so darn quiet, and still took some real temp of my CPU. Peak performance is at 200 hours, so I might even pick up a degree or two between now and then. Sweet. My A64 3000+ Newcastle is thanking me....

Amazing thing is that I had to mount it with the fan facing up, not back towards the exhaust. I can only imagine what this thing would do if it was in a different MOBO with a better orientation...
