which one has better cooling performance while still being quiet? Plus, if you suggest the xp-90, please recommend a good quiet fan as well.

I'd go for the XP-90. It is very cheap, while still being of the highest quality. Here it can be had for 24.99. Panaflo fans are very nice, but if you are after absolute silence I'd choose This.

If you want a more powerful fan, the Panaflo L1 series have a great dBA/performance ratio, and I've heard from many sources that Enermax makes some of the best fans avaliable.

Don't get me wrong, I really like AC's products. For video cooling I think they are unmatched (unlike other companies they exaust hot air outside the case...) But in the CPU heatsink arena I think Thermalright is on top.

if you can get the xp-90 + fan (nexus for quiet fans, panaflo for performance), for less than the artic freezer 64 pro, then buy it. if the freezer costs less, get that.

depends on where you live really since i can get the freezer 64 pro for the same price as that xp-90 without the fan :p

if you can wait, then wait for the freezer 64 pro to come back in stock. wow, for 28 bucks with free 2nd day air, thats a good deal.

From what I noticed, the Freezer 64 Pros from zzf disappear pretty quickly. I signed up to be notified on last Thursday when the part comes back. It came back in stock on Friday and it's gone again. Demand for this thing is nuts (maybe the dealers are buying as well). I ordered mine on Saturday knowing that if I didn't order soon, it's gone. Have fun shopping guys!

so the AC freezer 64 pro is pretty quiet right..compared to the xp-90 with a nexus fan? I read the noise rating for the AC but it's measured in sones and not db so can't really compare.

I have an XP-90, and i think it's most useful if you have a fan speed controller.

Of course, i've realized that i find most things are more useful if you have a fan speed controller....

Can anyone tell me what good load temperatures are for an overclocked AMD 64-3200 (venice)? I have good airflow now and get idle 30deg, load 44 with the stock cooler, but I'd like to overclock more and want to purchase either this Arctic Freezer 64 Pro or the XP-90 with a Panaflow fan. I still haven't seen a good head-to-head comparison of these two. TIA.

Maybe. But my Freezer will be mounted on an ASUS A8N SLI Premium with a heatpipe. The freezer will blow right on the back half of the heatpipe section.

I switched from an XP-90 to a Ninja, and although my CPU temps did decrease (nothing dramatic) one negative was the temperature of my RAM and motherboard increased.

This is because the Ninja (and AC Freezer 64) only blow air through the HS, while the XP-90 blows air through both the HS and onto the motherboard.

Just something to keep in mind.
