Arctic Cooler/Orb HSFs on K7s

I'm thinking about getting a different cooling solution for my CPU (K7 500) so I can OC it a little further. It has a 600MHz core and I'm currently running at that w/ 1.6v But when I jump to 700MHz it needs 1.7v to stay stable. Anyway, I was wondering how these HSFs worked. Would I get much more from a Alpha? I read a review on a Pee 3 and the Alpha was .5 C cooler over the Orb. Is this the same case w/ the Athlon? I'd much rather save myself $20 and goin' w/ the Orb if thats how good it performs.
