Arctic Alumina $3

Antec Cyclone Blower $6.99

This is my first deals post, so please keep any flames to a minimum. 😀

I found this last night. The alumina is on sale for $3 (save $1 off reg. price) and the fan appears to be their normal price. However, a check in Pricewatch for this same fan is $12 and up, plus shipping. Shipping for the grease only is $1.50, but with multiple items, the price jumps to $5 for unlimited items.

I order 2 fans (one of rmy sister's PC and 1 for mine as well as the grease for a total of $21.98) So...how'd I do?!?

I too was wondering what anyone knew about the antec cyclone. $12 shipped seems like a good price. I just saw this at BB for $19.99.

xp1800 wanted to know if anyone had ordered from BestBye.net before. I have and the experience hasn't been very good so far. I ordered several items - an Enermax case, an oval window kit, 100 thumbscrews, several bags of fan screws and a floppy drive. Total came to about $110 with UPS Ground shipping. I was very happy with the price of everything and sent payment with Paypal immediately after receiving my email invoice. This was on Sunday evening, Febuary 10th. On Tuesday the 12th I got a phone call from them, seems the Enermax case was out of stock (funny, the website showed it as "In Stock for Same Day Shipment"). I was offered the other Enermax case they sell, or I could wait until my item was back in stock, hopefully Friday the 15th. I decided to wait the extra couple of days to get the case I wanted and asked if it would be possible to add a few items to my order, seeings how it had not yet shipped. I had two 18" rounded IDE cables, one 24" IDE cable and one round 24" foppy cable thrown in. These items were out of stock, but were also due back in on the 15th. The guy on the phone was very helpful and apologized for the delay.

I called back on Saturday the 16th, just to make sure everything was available and that my order was being shipped in a timely manner. I got a different guy on the phone, this one a little less helpful. He assured me that all the stuff had come in the day before and all backorders were being filled. I asked when I could ecpect a UPS tracking number and he said "as soon as your order is shipped". You can probably guess what happened next. Almost an entire week of no word from BestByte and me getting more and more anxious. Finally, Friday the 22nd I get home to find a message on my answering machine from Gary. My COMPLETE order had been sitting in the warehouse ready to ship for a week! I tried calling the customer service number, but got their answering machine. I tried again Saturday, but their message states they're closed weekends (weird, someone aswered the previous Saturday). I'm going to call Monday and find out what's up.

To cap everything off, I received a payment request from them via Paypal for the cables I added. I think I should wait 'til Tuesday, then call and say "So sorry, but I'm currently out of funds. Can you wait until Friday when I'll get more in stock?". Then wait another week after that and hit them with "Oh, I forgot to send you that money you wanted." They've already sent my package, UPS has a scheduled delivery date of 3/01.

The moral of our story? If you plan on buying from BestByte.net, call in your order. Make sure all items are in stock and ask when they will ship. If you haven't heard anything the day after they said your package should have been sent, call them again and find out why. They have a good selection of parts and their prices are great, but it looks like you will need to babysit the entire process.

I'll let you guys know when I get my order. i placed the order on Friday evening, and I received an e-mail on Saturday indicating my order had been shipped (via USPS Priority mail) so I should see the order within a couple of days. TX to MD shipping should be here by Tuedsday since Priority mail guarantees 2 day service. realistically, since this was shipped on Saturday and the Post office works 7 days a week (they just don't deliver Sunday, but they still process mail, sort it, throw it on trucks, etc.) there is a good chance I may see it tomorrow. Worst case scenario should be Wed. delivery. again, I'll let you know how my order went.
