Arctic 7 CPU Cooler...having problems with screws

Seems like one or two of the pins will click in just fine, but the others won't. Anybody got any tips? The instructions aren't really clear as to whether or not I have to turn the screws a certain way for them too click in right.

LGA775 pushpins are a bitch and most if not all will attest to this. Keep trying, make sure everything's aligned properly, push them in diagonally and simultaneously if possible and see what happens. Took me 30 minutes and a pound of sweat to get my Ninja 2 on my board correctly so it's no easy task although you technically do have a heatsink that's half the size of mine....

You have to have the notch opening pointed towards the heatsink, IIRC. I HATED putting mine in, too. Also, be SURE that you click them in an X pattern by clicking the one opposite diagonal of the one you just clicked.

Thanks, I'll give this a shot. The dam directions aren't really clear as to how to notches/pins are supposed to be lined up.

I remember when I tried to put the stock cooler on my chip, I pressed so hard on the pins that the whole motherboard bent and did a cracking noise, like it broke or something. It's better to use something like a Thermalright bolt thru kit and so avoiding those stupid pins.
