Arconis True Image Demos, does the 'ghosted' machine expire?

I was looking at Arconis True Image and realize I have 15 days to decide if I want to continue using it.

I want to clone my drive, will it expire in 15days or only the software to make more clones does?

Not sure on the demo, a customer service person didn't give me a lot of confidence saying that if I kept the clone wouldn't that mean I was satisfied and should buy the software....he said they shouldn't expire.

Anyone know, or know of a free way to go from a Western Digital 120GB to Hitachi 750GB. When I went from a western digital to western digital drive I just used their migration software.

I have ghost in the office, but I'd rather avoid dragging in my full tower case and having to uncable it.

I don't want to download a pirated copy of anything. I may end up buying Acronis anyway, but I am not sure.

Also does HDClone 3.5 also only copy to a equal sized partition as the cloned drive? Someone said they thought it no longer locks you to equal sized partitions and that I would be able to move my whole 120GB drive to the 750GB, but it would take the free version about 2 hours.

the image lasts forever afaik. the bootable cd also works. what you lose is (the very convenient) windows aspect of it (backing up while using the pc).

for migration - use acronis during the trial.

Right when the format died and I went to install Acronis my C drive made a horrible clicking and died. Luckily I could recover and finish the install.

However, Acronis fails on the reboot with bad sector error and I can't select Ignore.

Running HDClone now...it should finish up around 2pm today...it's getting some bad 'reads' but no bad writes.

Hopefully I can get it back up and running and then repair anything that may have been wiped.
