Sorry about the misleading title

Pretty impressive.

Archos Helium:
1280 x 800 LCD panel
1GB of RAM, 8GB storage
1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek

Not as impressive as the phone though

Archos Diamond:
64bit Snapdragon 615
2gb RAM
1080p 5 inch screen
2700 Mah Battery

Less than $200

Nice phone. The main question is whether archos will update their devices for at least a year?

I've had two archos devices and they were both awful. Theres a reason the things are so cheap.

1080p is equated to 1920x1080 pixels. Seems like 1280x800 does not meet that standard. Is it different for a 5-in screen? Caveat emptor.

Tablet is crap.
Phone seems good, but doubt it would get updates. Would be skeptical buying it, probably rather get the Moto G LTE (2nd gen has been spotted in Brazil and will probably be announced soon?).

It looks like the tablet is going to be $149.99, that is pretty high for as basic android as you can get.

The phone ships with 4.4.4 which is a pretty mature and stable OS. I don't know how their track record is with updates. I'm not one do get antsy about OS updates though so I personally wouldn't care.

I hope I am not thread-crapping (I think the phone looks good, aesthetically), but what is the point of S615? It's a big.Little configuration of low-clocked A53 and higher-clocked.. A53? I do not understand how it can take advantage of big.Little's design that cannot be achieved by a single higher-clocked A53 cluster. Unless Qualcomm expects these S615 phones will start using more than 4 cores sooner or later?

Specs aren't phenomenal, but that price is not high at all considering it has a 4G cellular radio with dual SIM.

I thought Archos stuff was vapor Ware. I haven't touched them since the av500 media player/recorder from 10 years ago.

I think a lot of people were soured on Archos with their ****** Android 2.0-2.3 devices they released back in the day. I'm willing to give this phone a try.
