Carroll O'Connor died last night

A good man with a great heart, and a terrific actor, to boot. His portrayal of Archie Bunker changed American television for the better. And his dogged pursuit of the drug dealer who sold his addicted son the crap that he OD'd on, resulted in the dealer's murder conviction.

I honeltly didn't care for his Archie Bunker show, but I did like Heat of the night

This is a truly tragic loss. This is a man who has changed many peoples outlook on life through his portrayals on TV. A man who went against the grain of stardom and was a real role model for civility. As an irishman and a fan, I will miss him, as will most.

Really. I hadn't heard. I felt sorry for him when his son died. I used to watch that show a lot when I was a kid...

Great actor and good man. All in the Family was and still is a great show. I love watching the reruns. He leaves behind a good legacy.
