Archer C7 upgrade to LinkSys WRT1900AC

Hey Folks,

Anyone here using an Archer C7? I've been having constant freezes "router is frozing" and was curious if anyone else had a similar experience?

I purchased the C7 because it had the best reception out of all routers I tested at the time. I have aluminum siding so wireless penetration is a necessity.

Are you aware that the Current Linksys is actually Belkin?


That said there are Good and bad units in any Brand.

I have Aluminum Siding too. While the word Penetration sound very powerful the real solution is two less expensive Wireless Router using the second one as a n Access Point.

I can't stand this router crashing though and getting stuck. I wouldn't mind if it rebooted, but getting in a state to which only a reboot will solve is just bad.

Purchased: http://www.microcenter.com/product/454481/RT-AC1200_Dual_Band_80211ac_Wireless_Router so far it has been running well and it was pretty easy to setup.

Also picked up an Asus AP. Thanks for the kick in the pants, it's working rather well.

Smart move.

In most cases there is No functional difference between this $50 device mentioned above and the $200 ones..

Problem is that most people (including so called Enthusiasts) do not know, or really understand technology.

Our society runs on empty Verbal/marketing slogans rather than any real Understanding of anything.
