Hi there,

Can anyone remember an old arcade game (from about the mid 1980's) that had the Toccata music piece as the theme (Toccata and Fugue in D minor)?

Is was a 'space invaders' type game with an interesting interface. The ship you controlled ran around the perimeter of the screen and everything came at you from the middle of the screen.

Anyone know where I can get a copy of the game?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Gyruss! MAME emulates it perfectly but I don't have it sorry :(
game totally kicks ass to this day, was frustrating as hell though. You should be able to find it without too much effort.

Yes, that was it: Gyruss.

Yes it did. the game was at a time share place my parents had. Played it all the time there, but only one week a year. Could not get very good at it.

Thanks.

I played it a lot and was never really that good at it either, it was one of those overly difficult arcade games, especially considering the controls were - a joystick and a button. The game should have been easy, but it was a bitch. It's also on NES though not as good as the arcade one. Find it on MAME and you'll see the game is still too damn hard for what it is :)
