story

"Arafat, one of hundreds of Palestinians who participated in the blood drive, smiled as doctors drew blood from his right arm. Blood donations were to be passed on to the U.S. Embassy."

Make what you will of it.

He's trying to show that he supports the relief effort. He's doing what he can - and trying to repair a reputation.

Well, he's doing more than some Americans I know are doing.

At least he knows that this is a smart move to make at this junction.

It has to be a good example to set for those that follow him. When the news was breaking and he made his first public speech- the guy looked shattered by the events at the WTC

With the way the people of his country were cheering so much from seeing all the deaths, giving blood was probably his least painful way of sucking up to the U.S.

gee... how many people did you see celebrating... like 10... played over and over and over?

did you bother to see all the palestinains who made a shrine infront of the US Cousluate? Arafat, and i'll see if I can find the URL... said that he's support the US in finding the terrorits... now if you don't think that's a move of cooperation something's wrong with you.

Arafat is a very sick person, i believe he suffers from the illness of parkingson, so doing this is a definate sign of his feelings.

Just another dog and pony show by Arafat to try and lessen the impact of all his followers dancing in the streets because of what happened at the WTC.

arafat is scared. He was a terrorist and supported terrorism.

The next act of terrorism by the Palenstinans will seal their fate.

Some of you people really are looking for any excuse to hate middle easterners. I hope you're not proud of the crap that some Americans and canadians (probably elsewhere in the world as well) are putting fellow arab citizens through. Arafat gives blood and people bitch. Yesterday people were bitching at microsoft after it decided to donate money as well. No please some people I guess.

oh this is great... this is why you people wanna' kill innocents... because you see a select few doing something wrong... you immediately associate them with everyone... this is called stereotyping... and it's what the terrorists do with americans...

can't anyone learn the obvious lesson here?

Not everyone was dancing in the street. Lets get the fact straight. The news kept playing that scene over and over because it was news. A few rotten apples where doing so. Just like here,,a few rotten worms crawling out of the woodwork wanting attention, doing bomb threads and trying to do scam for collecting money for the victims in NYC in their name. So, think about it,,,if we have them here don't they have them there? There are decent people every where, and there the nasties too.
We all have those, even in the good ol USA. :( I know that we hurt,,that we are angry but lets not blame the whole Arab population for our suffering. I like to think we are better than that. A people with heart, compassion, strenght and intelligence.
